Quatrefoil Paint Chip Art - Boya Kataloğundan Grafik Sanata

The inspiration is...

When I bought this frame on a whim it had a picture of Marilyn Monroe in it and looked extremely chic in a sleek and Hollywood Glam way – You guys know I’m a sucker for Hollywood Glam. Yet when I brought it home I felt whatever photo I put in it would not give off the same vibe. Yup, I know we can’t all look that good. I do not resent the contrast, but give me a break, I’m human enough to regret it =)

Well, anyway, with the B&W photo option out, I decided to make up some graphic art that won’t strain the eye and keep it moving along similar colored objects. Then I found my inspiration here, the ombre herringbone paint chip art made by the amazing Steph from HouseStuffWorks! I could not imitate it completely, because, well I am a bit obsessive when it comes to DIY. So I went for a “Quatrefoil meets Morrocan tile” design which I cannot seem to get enough of these days, but you see the options are endless here:  You can collect rainbow colored paint chips for a kid’s room (or my kitchen for that matter =P ); or go for shades of dark blue on a metallic paper background with a fish scale design – we’ll get to the issue of fish scales, I promise ; ) Yet the essence of the project –that it is for FREE! – remains true!

Nerden çıktı?

Ne zamandır boş duran canım çerçevemin içine fotoğraf koyasım hiç gelmiyordu. Gözü yormayacak, salondaki diğer renklerle uyum sağlayacak grafik bir desen uydurmak istiyordum. Sonra House Stuff Works'ten Steph'in yaptığı bu muhteşem ilham kaynağını buldum. Gittim Bauhaus’a, sevdiğim renklerde boya örneklerinin olduğu küçük kartonları topladım.

Step by step

Decide what form you want to use. You like mine? Great, take it, it’s yours = ) Cut all chips according to your template. Plan where each color will be glued and glue away!

That.Is.All!

It doesn’t get any easier –and cheaper- than this, but the effect is so stylish!

I'm still thinking of what else I can do with the remaining paint chips I hoarded.

Which colors would you prefer? What form would you design it?

Kisses!

Adım adım

Formunuzu belirleyin. Benimkini beğendiyseniz alın sizin olsun =) tüm karton parçalarını şablonunuza göre kesin. Hangi rengin nerede duracağına karar verin ve yapıştırın.

Hepsi bu kadar!

“Yok efendim benim hiç elimden gelmez, ay valla beceremem”ciler, bu defa itiraz istemiyorum. ^^
Zira bu mini-proje hem TAMAMEN bedava, hem de ilkokul faaliyetleri kadar kolay! ;)

Düşünüyorum, elimde kalan  örneklerle başka neler yapsam diye.

Bu arada siz olsanız hangi renkleri tercih ederdiniz?  Hangi şekli seçerdiniz?

Öpoorum!
